MISSION STATEMENT:
As a Christian congregation in the reformed tradition, the Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church is here to provide vibrant worship, learning and outreach opportunities for all God's people. We are eagerly seeking others to join us to the end that we may be a genuinely caring family, voluntarily serving in and beyond our community in the name of Jesus Christ.

REFORMED THEOLOGY:
The Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) whose beliefs are of the Reformed Theology. The origins of the church trace back to the 16th century to John Calvin in Switzerland and John Knox, a Scotsman, who studied under John Calvin. Historically, the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has emphasized the sovereignty of God, the Centrality of scripture, and the service of God in life and worship.
SACRAMENTS:
We have two sacraments, Baptism and The Lord's Supper.
SIX GREAT ENDS OF THE CHURCH:
The six "great ends of the Church" outlined in the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) are:
1. The proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of human kind
2. The shelter, nuture and spiritual fellowship of the Children of God
3. The maintenance of divine Worship
4. The preservation of the truth
5. The promotion of social righteousness
6. The exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world
